Sneak Peek!

What a day! Took Delilah for an hour walk around the neighborhood in the morning, followed by antiquing in Carlsbad (found a specimen drawer!), Home Goods, Michaels, decorating the house, Lazybones shoot, washing Delilah, blow-drying Delilah, taking Delilah back to my parents' house, coming back home, more decorating, and tofu scrambler and salad for dinner. I'm pooped!

I've been getting a little emotionally attached to my finds lately, which is a little bit of a problem. Nonetheless, here's a little sneak peek of today's shoot:

Finders Keepers

Hello Friends! T.G.I.F.! Here's a fresh batch of my recent thrift-store finds:

A lifetime supply of embroidery thread in assorted colors for a buck fitty? Hell yeah:

This is quickly becoming my favorite nook in the house. Scored this noble unicorn today on what I like to call, "The North County Thrift Circuit". I also adopted a couple of plants today. It's amazing how much houseplants can liven up your living space:

The other plant I adopted today resides in the bedroom. The print is by Berkley Illustration (shout-out!)

I had been eyeing these over the past couple months at a local thrift store. At first, I abstained from buying them because they were part of a larger set and I couldn't bring myself to tear them apart from their family. However, I didn't feel that bad about it today:

And if the matching salt and pepper shakers weren't enough for you, check out this butter dish:

Purchased these vintage planters a few months ago. The succulents Noel got me for Christmas just moved into their new homes:

Have a wonderful weekend!

BEAST IS IN THE HOUSE

Snatched the Beast from my parents' house yesterday afternoon and brought her to my house for a slumber party. I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS CREATURE. She is the best Beast there ever was, there ever is, and there ever will be. Long live the Beast. Amen.

Hello, my little chick-a-dees and a happy 2011 to you all! I hope you all had a fantastic holiday season!

My mayun and I just got back from Nevada City a couple of days ago. Yesterday was spent recovering from The Road Trip From Hell (the only way I can describe the exhaustion I felt yesterday would be to liken the experience to a brutal hangover from mixing 3 or more types of alcohol). The Grapevine was closed due to snow, forcing us to backtrack 60 miles in the opposite direction to take an alternate route through the Mojave Desert. It was raining/snowing/hailing the whole time. Basically, it was not fun at all... Nonetheless, here are some pictures I took over the weekend:

Despite the road-trip-from-hell, it was nice to get out of town for a few days. We even got some skiing in!

Regardless, there is no place like home. Things are slowly coming together here. Our couch and king-sized mattress (also known as the most comfortable mattress of all time) were delivered about a week ago. I find myself spending a lot of time standing and staring around the house - envisioning what else we need and where it should go.

Depending on my diligence over the next few weeks (fingers crossed), I will begin sharing corners of our home with you.

Be excited.

Hello Friends! Hopefully you all had a very merry Christmas yesterday and that you were able to check off some (or all, if you were lucky) items off of your Christmas list.

Looks like Santa (aka, my boyfriend) follows my blog. I scored a Whales of the World poster, 4 animates mugs, Black Milk's galaxy leggings, and some succulents! On Christmas Eve, we went out for a nice dinner at Pacifica Del Mar (Noel had the scallops, I had the prawns, and we shared the cheese plate for dessert). Yesterday morning, we opened presents and then watched Elf in bed. Later that day, we went up to Orange County to visit Noel's family, followed by dinner at my parents' house back in San Diego. It was a long day!

Now that Christmas has come and gone, it's time to get ready for New Year's Eve! Since we both have some time off of work, Noel and I will be taking a road trip up to Nevada City (which, strangely enough, is not in Nevada, but rather in northern California) to visit friends. I'm excited to see them, but I'm not too excited about the 8-9 hour drive. I don't do well in cars for a long period of time...

What are your plans for New Year's?

As far as resolutions go, I'll get back to you on that one.

While I think about it, here is a dose of inspiration for the day. Enjoy!

Dreamy Dresses:

The lovely Ms. Drew Barrymore:

These cashmere knit knickers:

These amazing vintage frames:

These vintage kit-cat clocks (I'll take the teal one):

Presents to Myself

A few of my Christmas presents came early this year (since I bought them for myself). Hey, you gotta be kind to yourself! Here's what I got:

Some butterfly taxidermy (finally):

These reads (just started The History of Love about a week ago and I love it! It reads like how the movie Amelie is directed):

A (smaller) brown digital camera (unlike my SLR, it fits in my purse):

A chalkboard, which recently found its home in our bedroom:

A new owl friend:

I think he looks a little shy amongst all of his new acquaintances:

A globe:

Merry Christmas (Eve) to you and yours! I hope that you can check everything off your Christmas list tomorrow morning!
